Mutianyi Great wall

Located in Huairou County about 45 miles from Beijing, Mutianyu Great Wall enjoys a long history and is part of the glorious culture of China. It connects Juyongguan Pass in the west and Gubeikou Great Wall in the east.

Mutianyu Great Wall winds 1.4 miles through lofty mountains and high ridges, many sections of which are made of granite.

I brought my sister-in-laws for a weekend visit and as usual since I was up there so many times, I decided to wait the the carpark at the foot of themountain sketching this piece.

Famous Huairou chestnut & dried fruit

Drove to Huairou District, about 75km north east of Beijing city with some relatives for a taste of local food. We reach a small town called WeiDianCun, famous for their chestnut. The villager here grow other type of fruit as well and most of them are made into dried fruit snacks. There are several long counters on both sides of the HuaiHuang Expressway, filled with a variety of dried mango, pear, dried apple, walnuts, chestnuts and so on.

The interesting thing about this shop is that some books maked 'Collection' are not for sale. The shop attendant said those book belongs to the owner and they are not for sale.

At Cafe 798 arts district

The Dashanzi Art District, also known as the 798 Art District or Factory 798, is named after the 798th factory built in the 1950s in a part of Dashanzi in the Chaoyang District of Beijing . The art zone covers an area of 0.6 square kilometre AT Café: A fashionable café whose notable feature is a bare-brick dividing wall punctured by massive holes, AT serves as the unofficial canteen for the artists and gallery staff who work in the area.

Sunday Brunch

Is sunday morning and Rachel invited everyone to her place for brunch. Everyone are busy talking about different stuffs while waiting to be serve brunch by Rachel (my sister-in-law). Wendy talking about shopping, WeePing talking about lunch, Joe reading the early edition, Shawn keep bugging his mom about the new video game, Leng browsing the internet, Megan looks like she is not entirely awake and me, sketching them.
